Job summary

Base-2 Solutions in Washington, DC is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to ensure quality during the modernization of a government information system. You will perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web apps, validate UI accessibility (Section 508/WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility, and contribute to test plans and automation.

The role requires testing Tomcat, Oracle 19c, SAP BI interfaces, API testing, and integrating tests into GitLab

Qualifications

Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
Strong UI testing expertise including user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility.
Proficiency with defect tracking systems.
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
Experience testing Tomcat, Oracle 19c, and SAP BI interfaces.
Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
API testing experience (Solr, RESTful services).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.
Excellent analytical and documentation skills.
Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades and new features.
Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
Conduct UI validation and cross-browser compatibility testing.
Execute manual testing for complex scenarios.
Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
Ensure adherence to Section 508/WCAG accessibility standards.
Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments.
Verify security controls and data protection measures.
Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing.
Perform API testing for backend services (Solr, REST).
Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate resolution.
Test Tomcat deployments and configurations.
Test Oracle 19c data flows.
Test SAP BI reporting interfaces.
