Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to support modernization of a government information system. The role emphasizes functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications, UI validation, accessibility (Section 508/WCAG), and cross-browser compatibility.

You will develop test plans, execute manual tests, and build UI automation, while aligning with federal cybersecurity requirements and SAP BI interfaces.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Strong UI testing expertise including user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility.
• Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Experience testing Apache Tomcat, Oracle 19c, and SAP BI interfaces.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments and API testing (Solr/REST).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades and new features.
• Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Conduct user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility testing.
• Execute manual testing methodologies for complex scenarios.
• Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Ensure adherence to government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments.
• Verify security controls and data protection measures.
• Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing.
• Perform API testing for backend services (Apache Solr, RESTful services).
• Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage defect tracking systems and coordinate issue resolution.
• Test Tomcat deployments and configurations.
• Test Oracle 19c integrations and data flows.
• Test SAP BI reporting interfaces and outputs.
