Job summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure quality and compliance during the modernization of a government information system. The role emphasizes UI testing, functional/regression testing of Java-based web apps, and accessibility validation across browsers.

The candidate will develop test plans, execute manual tests, and build UI automation as well as API tests. Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Tomcat, Oracle 19c, SAP BI, and Windows Server is highly valued

Qualifications

• Experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• UI testing expertise including validation and cross-browser compatibility.
• Defect tracking proficiency.
• Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG accessibility standards.
• Experience with Tomcat, Oracle 19c, and SAP BI interfaces.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
• API testing for backend services (Solr, REST).
• GitLab CI/CD experience.
• Analytical skills and meticulous documentation.
• Collaboration in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for upgrades and new features.
• Perform functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications.
• Conduct UI validation and cross-browser compatibility testing.
• Execute manual testing for complex scenarios.
• Validate compliance with federal cybersecurity requirements.
• Ensure adherence to accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG).
• Test enterprise applications in Windows Server environments.
• Verify security controls and data protection measures.
• Develop and maintain UI automation frameworks for regression testing.
• Perform API testing for backend services (Solr, RESTful).
• Integrate automated tests into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage defect tracking and coordinate issue resolution.
• Test Tomcat deployments and configurations.
• Test Oracle 19c data flows.
• Test SAP BI reporting interfaces.
