Job summary

Maryland Department of Labor, Division of Unemployment Insurance, seeks a UI Professional V Benefits-Supervisor to oversee daily operations of the Benefits Payment Control unit and supervise BPC staff. The role emphasizes policy creation, process improvement, and internal controls to protect UI funds and data.

Successful candidates will lead supervisors, manage a team, train staff on Beacon processes, and ensure timely benefit payments while maintaining service quality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team in a public or private agency.
• Demonstrated ability to develop policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Strong customer service and training capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead a unit of UI Professionals/Associates.
• Provide guidance and training on policies, procedures, and programs.
• Review workload and ensure timely payment of benefits.
• Coach staff to improve performance and conduct evaluations.
• Maintain accurate records and compile performance metrics.
