The University of Houston System is seeking a Police Dispatcher to receive emergency and non-emergency requests from the University community and dispatch calls to University Police Officers using the computer aided dispatch system as the primary mode of operation.
Responsibilities include transmitting requests, inputting data into a computer database, monitoring alarms, operating radio and office equipment, issuing equipment, and training or guiding new dispatchers as needed.
Receives emergency and non-emergency requests from the University community and dispatches calls to University Police Officers utilizing the computer aided dispatch system as the primary mode of operation.
MQ: Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. As might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED.
Experience: Requires a minimum of one (1) year directly related job experience.
Certification/Licensing: Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job, as specified on the job posting details.
*Prefer 2 years directly related job experience. Intermediate Telecommunicator Certification through TCLEO SE.
Requires technical certification or licensing directly related to the job. Basic or Intermediate Telecommunicator Certification through TCOLE.
Must pass Computerized Criminal History Check, Background Investigation and Drug Testing prior to employment.
