Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided:**WV:** Licensed Respiratory Therapist Certified (LRTC) through the West Virginia Board of Respiratory Care2. Certification as a Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists **OR** Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) through American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) within two (2) years of hire.3. Certification in one of the following through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC):* Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)* Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)* Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) 4. Certification in CPR. **EXPERIENCE:** 1. One (1) year of Polysomnographic experience.**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** **EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:**1. Current certification as a Certified Polysomnographic Technologist. (CPSGT) 2. Clinical Sleep Educator Certificate from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists. **EXPERIENCE:** 1. One (1) year of Sleep Study scoring experience.**CORE JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Utilizes proper testing montages to detect abnormal sleep architecture, EEG/EKG abnormalities, abnormal respiratory events, and low oximetry. 4. Performs artifact-free polysomnograms. 5. Performs equipment pre- and post-testing including impedance check and calibrations and records in patient's permanent record. 6. Obtains consent for Video Taping, Filming and/or Photography and Polysomnogram. 7. Completes Pre- and Post-sleep Questionnaires. 8. Document history of the patient's sleep problems and documentation for each procedure. 9. Detect sleep hygiene problems and record appropriately. 10. Charts clinical notes for interpretation by physician regarding action taken and any comfort measures provided during sleep testing. 11. Records an event log with chronological documentation of patient interaction during sleep testing. 12. Labels, files, and stores medical data and test results according to Policy/Procedure in Sleep Center Manual.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
