Certification as a Certified Polysomnographic Technologist (CPSGT) through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists **OR** Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) through American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) within two (2) years of hire.3. Certification in one of the following through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC):* Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT)* Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT)* Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)* Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) 4. Utilizes proper testing montages to detect abnormal sleep architecture, EEG/EKG abnormalities, abnormal respiratory events, and low oximetry. 4. Performs artifact-free polysomnograms. 5. Performs equipment pre- and post-testing including impedance check and calibrations and records in patient's permanent record. 6. Obtains consent for Video Taping, Filming and/or Photography and Polysomnogram. 7. Completes Pre- and Post-sleep Questionnaires. 8. Document history of the patient's sleep problems and documentation for each procedure. 9. Detect sleep hygiene problems and record appropriately. 10. Charts clinical notes for interpretation by physician regarding action taken and any comfort measures provided during sleep testing. 11. Records an event log with chronological documentation of patient interaction during sleep testing. 12.
