Job summary

Avita Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the Emergency Department at Avita Galion Hospital. The role supports patient care, communications, and record-keeping in a fast-paced ED setting.

Responsibilities include assisting nurses, following physician directions, and maintaining regulatory and policy compliance. The position is casual with weekend, holiday, and shift requirements, and opportunities for growth within Avita Health System.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date preferred.
• STNA, Paramedic, or EMS certification is preferred.

Position Overview

Meets the communication needs of the patient, family and staff. Prepares and compiles records in the facility. Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff. Provides basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients. Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures and standards.

Qualifications

Location: Avita Galion Hospital – Emergency Department

Casual position with monthly, weekend, and holiday requirements. Will learn both UC and PCA positions in the ED. Need to be available to work some weekends. PCA hours are 10a-10p, UC hours are 7a-4:30p and 4:30p-2a.
