Job summary

Avita Health System is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) for the MedSurg Department at Avita Bucyrus Hospital. Provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN/LVN, assisting with activities of daily living and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients.

The ideal candidate holds a current BLS certification (or within 30 days of hire) and may have STNA certification or prior nursing assistant experience.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.
• Preferred: State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) certification or applicable work-related experience as a nursing assistant.
• Previous experience working as a nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN.

Position Overview

Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group or patients.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.

Preferred:

• Current Certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or applicable work-related experience working as a nursing assistant.
• Previous experience working as a nursing assistant.
