Job summary

Avita Health System in Galion, Ohio, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (UC/PCA) to join the MedSurg Department. Under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN, you will assist patients with activities of daily living, provide personal care, and help maintain a safe, clean environment for an assigned group.

Preferred credentials include State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA); current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• STNA certification or relevant nursing assistant work experience preferred.
• Previous experience as a nursing assistant is preferred.

Position Overview

Provides direct and indirect patient care activities under the direction of an RN or LPN/LVN. Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides for personal care, comfort and assists in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment for an assigned group or patients.

Qualifications

Required:

• Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.

Preferred:

• Current Certification as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) or applicable work-related experience working as a nursing assistant.
• Previous experience working as a nursing assistant.
