Job summary

GeoSearch seeks an UAS Pilot II to independently execute routine flight operations supporting T&D utility inspection and survey programs in Florida. The role requires at least 1 year of UAS experience and the ability to perform RGB, thermal, and basic LiDAR collection with limited supervision.

You will handle pre-flight planning, airspace coordination (LAANC), field documentation, data offload, and ensure safety and data quality standards while traveling frequently for project needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 1–2 years of relevant UAS experience, including some T&D or linear infrastructure inspection work.
• Demonstrated ability to independently execute RGB and thermal aerial collection missions.
• Familiarity with flight planning, LAANC, field documentation, and data offload and QA procedures.
• Strong understanding of T&D safety expectations and field production standards.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct pre-flight planning for assigned missions, including weather/site assessment, hazards, airspace authorizations, and flight plans for safe data collection.
• Independently execute RGB, thermal, and basic LiDAR aerial collection missions over T&D infrastructure.
• Maintain aircraft control and adapt flight paths based on site conditions.
• Coordinate with a visual observer and ensure continuous communication.
• Perform data offload, labeling, and transfer according to naming conventions and protocols.
• Assist with field logistics, equipment handling, and site setup/breakdown as needed.
• Act as visual observer for other UAS crew operations.
