Job summary

Southern Company Services in Atlanta is seeking a GIS Analyst I / UAS Pilot to operate unmanned systems for aerial inspections, data collection, and analysis. You will act as RPIC, schedule flights, coordinate airspace, and support AOC operations.

The role blends FAA Part 107 operations with GIS/remote sensing, data analytics, and contractor coordination. Travel and nontraditional hours may be required to support field ops and weather-related missions.

Qualifications

• FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate required.
• Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, UAS standards, weather, airspace operations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience with UAS technology and flight planning software.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and support field ops.
• Ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate UAS for inspections and data collection.
• Serve as RPIC and coordinate flight missions.
• Plan and execute flights in compliance with FAA rules.
• Maintain flight logs and mission records.
• Support UAS training and procedures development.
• Provide user support for flight scheduling and authorizations.
