Are you a University of Alaska student looking to build professional office and administrative experience? International Student and Scholar Services is seeking a dependable and organized Student Assistant to provide essential office and front desk support during regular business hours. This position will help keep daily office operations running smoothly by monitoring the main office, assisting with mail and filing, uploading and organizing documents in OnBase, shredding confidential records, and helping maintain and update the department webpage and Terra Dotta software. The Student Assistant will also provide general administrative support for international student and scholar processes and help ensure records and information are accurate and up to date. U.S. citizenship is required due to the regulations governing this program.

To thrive in this role, you should be dependable, welcoming, detail-oriented, and organized. The primary focus of this position is providing reliable front desk coverage, greeting visitors, answering phone lines, assisting with incoming mail and deliveries, and helping manage daily office logistics. Additional duties include filing, document management, shredding, uploading records to OnBase, and maintaining the department website through Omni CMS and the international software, Terra Dotta. Experience with Omni CMS is preferred but can be learned on the job.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently at the front desk while communicating professionally and effectively with a diverse team of faculty, staff, vendors, and students. This position is ideal for a University of Alaska student who is interested in developing professional office, customer service, and administrative skills while supporting the important work of International Student and Scholar Services.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Fairbanks. This is a part-time, student assistant position, new hires will be placed on the UA student salary schedule, based on education and experience.
