Job description

Archives and Special Collections provides access to one-of-a-kind research materials for the University communities and members of the public. Archives student assistants perform a variety of tasks necessary for maintaining and providing access to the collection and provide support services to Archives staff and to researchers. Some scheduling flexibility is offered, but the Archives has limited hours and the student assistant will be expected and scheduled to work around their classes within weekdays (M-F), between 9 am and 5 pm.

Applicant must be able and prepared to follow instructions closely, paying attention to detail. Learn and accurate complete detailed and occasionally repetitive tasks. Work independently, after training, without direct supervision. Manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Communicate clearly and accurately in writing and verbally with other employees and archives users. Provide quality customer service and maintain confidentiality of user information. Use MS Office Suite applications. Read cursive writing without AI intervention. Must be able to climb ladders, lift up to 35 lbs with or without accommodations, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time, push and pull loaded book carts.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage, AK. This is a student employee position. Pay is $13.11/hour
