Job summary

Starr is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage U.S. payroll operations for about 2,000 employees across multiple entities. You will ensure accurate, compliant processing and provide timely employee support using Workday and ADP tools.

You will collaborate with finance and HR, prepare standard and ad hoc reports, and assist with audits and year-end activities. Strong analytical skills and confidentiality are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, accounting, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 2+ years of end-to-end U.S. payroll administration across multiple states and entities.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax rules and compliance.
• Proficiency with Workday Payroll and ADP SmartCompliance.
• Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management, with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly payroll for U.S. entities, including on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls.
• Administer payroll transactions: new hires, changes, bonuses, severance, garnishments, tax elections.
• Manage garnishments and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Respond to payroll inquiries with timely, accurate resolution.
• Prepare recurring payroll reports and ad hoc payroll/tax reports.
• Reconcile payroll tax reporting after each cycle.
• Support year-end activities, including W-2 processing.
• Assist with audits and system implementations as needed.
