Job summary

Simply.TV is seeking a hands-on U.S. Controller to own our U.S. finance operations, work with the CFO on global finance, and drive the monthly close, payroll, 401(k), AP/AR, and audit readiness. This role offers autonomy, a direct line to the CFO, and room to improve processes as we scale.

You will lead U.S. close cycles, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain strong internal controls while collaborating with international teams. Strong English and GAAP expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience with hands-on month-end close ownership.
• Experience running U.S. payroll and 401(k) administration.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, AP, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system.
• Experience with multi-entity or international accounting is a strong plus.
• CPA, or progress toward a CPA, is a plus.
• Comfort working with confidential and sensitive information.
• Proactive, growth-minded approach with process improvement in finance.
• Excellent written and spoken English; Danish or Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, including accruals, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly U.S. financial statements and reporting for CFO.
• Maintain the close calendar and ensure deadlines are met.
• Audit-ready documentation and primary liaison for audit requests.
• Oversee U.S. payroll processing and 401(k) plan administration.
• Reconcile payroll to GL and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Coordinate intercompany transactions with global finance team.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad-hoc analyses.
