Job summary

Simply.TV is seeking a hands‑on U.S. Controller to own U.S. finance operations and partner with the CFO on global finance. You will run the monthly close, own U.S. payroll and 401(k), manage AP/AR, and ensure audit‑ready numbers.

This role offers autonomy, direct access to the CFO, and opportunities to improve processes as the company scales. Remote‑friendly with a global finance footprint.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including hands‑on ownership of the month‑end close.
• Experience running U.S. payroll and working with 401(k) plan administration.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, AP, AR, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Hands‑on experience with QuickBooks or a similar accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Own the U.S. month-end close from start to finish, including accruals, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly U.S. financial statements and reporting for the CFO.
• Maintain the close calendar and meet deadlines.
• Keep audit‑ready documentation and be the main contact for audits.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Oversee U.S. payroll processing and 401(k) administration.
• Reconcile payroll to GL and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate with external payroll providers for multi-country inputs.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad‑hoc analysis.
• Find and fix gaps in finance processes and automate where possible.
