Glendale Unified School District is seeking qualified clerical staff to support district operations at various locations (Glendale, La Crescenta, Montrose). Positions include substitute roles with fixed hourly pay (no benefits) and permanent opportunities requiring an eligibility list after examination.
Responsibilities include typing, filing, data entry, reception, records management, and general office duties. Some roles may require bilingual skills in Armenian, Korean, or Spanish.
These recruitment are for both permanent and substitute roles within the district boundaries. Substitute employees are paid a fixed hourly rate at the first step of the salary range. Substitute positions do not include benefits. For permanent opportunities, an examination process will be necessary to establish an eligibility list. Qualifying candidates will be notified accordingly.
Assignments may be at various locations throughout the district boundaries (Glendale, La Crescenta, or Montrose). Applications will be processed periodically and according to the needs of the district.
Some positions in this classification may require bilingual skills in Armenian, Korean, or Spanish.
Applicants for positions that require keyboarding skills must submit a typing certificate to demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements of the position. This includes all promotional applicants.

After an offer of employment a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis. Also required after an offer, the candidate must complete a pre-employment physical examination and obtain fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (district-paid). The onboarding process includes legally mandated training(s) and reference checks. In addition, pursuant to Senate Bill 848 (SB848), the district is required to conduct reference checks that include inquiry into whether the applicant has ever been the subject of a credible complaint, investigation, or disciplinary action related to child abuse, sexual misconduct, or sexual harassment.
