Glendale Unified School District is seeking an on-site aide to support students with disabilities during school hours. The role includes assisting with mobility, personal care, health-related tasks, and monitoring student progress under supervision.
The position is part-time, 9.25 months per year, 6 hours per day, with fourth-step salary starting at $20.52 per hour. A valid First Aid/CPR certificate is required within probation, and some experience with disabilities is desirable.
Performs a variety of responsible and specialized tasks in the physical care and classroom instruction of students with disabilities; and assists students with disabilities in meeting the physical requirements of attending school.
Various opportunities exist for permanent and on‑call or long‑term substitute assignments. The eligibility list will be used to fill both types of positions based on the immediate and future needs of the District.
All positions are part‑time, 9.25 months per year, 6 hours per day.
Permanent positions are Monday through Friday and include full benefits for the employee only.
Both permanent and substitute assignments may be in any part of the district boundaries (Glendale, La Crescenta, or Montrose).
Positions in this classification start at the fourth step of the salary range at $20.52 per hour.
Substitute employees are paid a fixed hourly rate at the fourth step.
Permanent employee may earn higher rates upon successful completion of the probationary period (130 days of paid service) and may receive merit increases each year up to the maximum amount.

Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent.
Incumbents must obtain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate within the designated probationary period for this classification.

After an offer of employment a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis. Also required after an offer, the candidate must complete a pre‑employment physical examination and obtain fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (district‑paid). The onboarding process includes legally mandated training(s) and reference checks. In addition, pursuant to Senate Bill 848 (SB848), the district is required to conduct reference checks that include inquiry into whether the applicant has ever been the subject of a credible complaint, investigation, or disciplinary action related to child abuse, sexual misconduct, or sexual harassment.
