Job summary

Macalester College is seeking an experienced Workday Applications Analyst for a defined two-year fixed term to support and continuously improve our Workday environment. This hands-on role spans production support, business process configuration, reporting, and integrations to meet institutional needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, business systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years of hands-on experience supporting Workday in a production environment, including troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing system support.
• Experience supporting Workday following an implementation, major module deployment, or other significant system transition.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving application issues in a production environment.
• Experience working directly with business users to understand requirements and translate them into practical Workday solutions.
• Experience with application configuration, testing, documentation, and change management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and determine appropriate solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing business needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational support for the Workday environment, including investigating and resolving production issues, data corrections, configuration questions, and system errors.
• Analyze reported issues to determine root causes and identify appropriate solutions or workarounds.
• Manage assigned Workday requests from initial assessment through resolution, communicating status and coordinating with stakeholders as appropriate.
• Support security-related requests and troubleshooting in accordance with established Workday security roles, policies, and governance.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend changes that improve system reliability, usability, or efficiency.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of configurations, troubleshooting procedures, and solutions to support institutional knowledge and continuity.
