Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Ludington, MI. This contract position supports students with visual impairments through direct instruction, Braille, assistive tech, and O&M training, within a collaborative school environment.

The role requires TVI certification or licensure eligibility, strong communication for IEPs, and willingness to travel between sites to support multiple classrooms.

Qualifications

• TVI certification or eligibility for state licensure.
• Experience with visually impaired students in an educational setting.
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and accessible materials.
• Ability to collaborate with general educators, special ed staff, and families.
• Willingness to travel between school sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments.
• Assess students to determine current functioning and develop instructional strategies.
• Create and adapt educational materials to ensure accessibility.
• Provide direct Braille instruction, use of assistive technology, and orientation and mobility as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings, monitor progress, and write growth reports.
• Train and support staff in strategies and tools to promote inclusion.
• Serve as a resource in the school community to foster understanding of visually impaired students.
