Job summary

Strides Therapy & Educational Services is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support students across elementary through secondary levels in Warrenton, Virginia. This itinerant role collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to deliver direct vision services and consultative support, including Braille, assistive technology and independence skills.

The ideal candidate holds a TVI license in Virginia, has Braille proficiency, and can manage an itinerant caseload across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education of the Visually Impaired or related field.
• Virginia teaching license with endorsement in Special Education – Blindness and Visual Impairments Pre‑K‑12 or eligibility.
• Braille reading/writing proficiency as required for licensure.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct vision instruction and consultative services to students with visual impairments, including Braille instruction, assistive technology, compensatory skills and independent living skills.
• Collaborate with Special Educators, General Education Teachers, O&M Specialists, SLPs, OTs, PTs and related providers to support student success and accommodations.
• Monitor progress toward IEP goals, maintain documentation, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
• Maintain open communication with students, families, school staff, and district personnel regarding progress and recommendations.
• Stay current with best practices, assistive technology and Braille instruction methods for visually impaired students.
