Job summary

Candor Consulting & Diagnostics is seeking a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to empower students with visual impairments in collaboration with ARD committees and families. You will develop IEPs/IFSPs, deliver Braille literacy and assistive-technology instruction, monitor progress, and advocate for accessible, equitable education across classrooms.

You'll work with general educators, O&M specialists, related services, and parents to support transitions to post-secondary options,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Vision Rehabilitation, or related field required.

Responsibilities

• Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) with ARD committees.
• Deliver Braille literacy, assistive technology, daily living skills, and compensatory skills instruction.
• Monitor student progress data to assess growth and adjust instruction to meet IEP goals.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, O&M specialists, and families; participate in ARD meetings.
• Promote accessible accommodations and assistive technologies to support the general education curriculum.
• Prepare students for post-secondary education, vocational settings, and independent living.
• Develop safety and independence plans including orientation and mobility when applicable.
