Qualifications

• Requires Associate’s degree or 48 semester hours and may require ParaPro test.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or obtainable.
• Previous experience with children in educational settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Generates tutoring plans detailing goals and enrichment activities for students.
• Develops and assists students with academic exercises and class activities.
• Compiles materials and prepares the classroom for instruction and learning activities.
• Reinforces knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher.
• Assists teacher with instruction and daily routines, skills, and concepts.
• Provides instructional support to students identified in need of tutoring services.
• Utilizes instructional practices, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques.
• Collects and compiles data for accountability and program development.
• Completes information for reports and evaluation.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with the teacher.

Job description

The Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for the professional instructions designd to provide academic, social, physical and skill development for students in specifiv grades/subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) from an, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.

PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Degree Equivalency Formula

Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.

Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.
