Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours).
• Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred.
• Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Proof of education, training, and/or experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Generates tutoring plans detailing individual goals and enrichment activities for home and school.
• Develops academic exercises and class activities, focusing on small groups or individuals.
• Compiles and organizes materials and classroom for instruction and other learning activities.
• Reinforces knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher.
• Assists teacher with daily routines and instructional support.
• Provides instructional reinforcement to students needing tutoring services.
• Uses instructional practices, behavior management, assessment techniques.
• Collects data for accountability and program development.
• Compiles information for reports and evaluation.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with teachers.

Purpose and Scope

The Before/After-School Certified tutor is responsible for the professional instructions designd to provide academic, social, physical and skill development for students in specifiv grades/subject areas to prepare them to be successful citizens and workers.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's Degree, or two (2) years of college (minimum of 48 semester hours) from an, or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment Test and one (1) year of experience working with children in an educational setting preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in CPR and First Aid. (PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED)

Degree Equivalency Formula:Bachelor’s Degree= 4 years plus required years of experience.Master’s Degree= 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included.

• Collects and compiles statistical data as needed for accountability and program development.
• Collects, organizes and completes information necessary for reports and evaluation.
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with teacher.
