The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Kickapoo Turnpike in Newalla, OK. This full-time role runs approximately 7:30am–4:00pm and involves operating power equipment used in highway maintenance.

Level I/II positions offer competitive pay: Level I $42,630 and Level II $49,455 yearly, with a ladder to CDL and promotion potential after probationary period.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy equipment in highway maintenance/road construction.
• Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment.
• Willingness to travel for job-related requirements and emergency responses.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as trucks, graders, dozers, loaders, cranes and other heavy machinery.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repairs and/or replaces signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provide traffic control using stop/slow signs or flags.
• Apply herbicide to highway rights-of-way.
• Remove debris and obstructions from roadways.
