The 978 OKLAHOMA TURNPIKE AUTHORITY seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Chickasaw Turnpike Agency, located in Sulphur, Oklahoma. The role operates power equipment and supports highway maintenance, with a workday from about 7:30am to 4:00pm and a pathway to Level II after obtaining a CDL within six months.

Compensation Level I = $20.50/hour ($42,630 annually); Level II = $23.78/hour ($49,455 annually). OTA offers competitive pay, benefits, and growth opportunities in public service.

Qualifications

• LEVEL I – Education and Experience: none.
• LEVEL II – 1 year of heavy equipment experience and a current CDL Class A.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, graders, dozers, loaders and cranes.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Repair roadway shoulders or bridge decks as needed.
• Repair/replace signs, posts, guardrails and fences.
• Provide traffic control using stop/slow signs or flags.
• Apply herbicide to highway rights-of-way to control weeds.
• Remove debris and obstacles from work areas.
