Job summary

Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica is seeking a Turndown Attendant to deliver luxury evening housekeeping. You will prepare guest rooms for night service, ensure cleanliness, ambiance, and thoughtful touches that align with our five‑star standards.

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Rooms, you will perform turndown, refresh linens and amenities, and respond promptly to guest requests while upholding safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide evening turndown service to guests.

• Inspect rooms for cleanliness, safety and functionality.
• Maintain housekeeping carts and service areas in order.
• Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.

Job Description

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Rooms, the Turndown Attendant is responsible for providing evening housekeeping services that enhance guest comfort and create a relaxing, welcoming environment. This role focuses on preparing guest rooms for the evening, ensuring cleanliness, ambiance, and attention to detail in line with luxury service standards. Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide consistently professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests
• Perform evening turndown service in assigned guest rooms and suites in accordance with hotel standards
• Prepare rooms for the evening by:
  • Turning down beds and refreshing linens as needed
  • Adjusting lighting, closing curtains, and creating a comfortable ambiance
  • Refreshing towels, toiletries, and in-room amenities
• Lightly clean and tidy guest rooms, including:
  • Removing trash and used items
  • Straightening furniture and guest belongings as appropriate
  • Wiping surfaces and refreshing bathrooms
• Replenish water, amenities, and any in-room offerings as required
• Ensure all guest requests are fulfilled promptly during service hours
• Inspect rooms to ensure cleanliness, presentation, and functionality of all items
• Report maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly
• Respect guest privacy and follow all security and confidentiality procedures
• Maintain housekeeping carts, supplies, and service areas in a clean and organized manner
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines, including proper use of cleaning products
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding room status and guest needs
• Assist with special requests or additional evening services as required

Qualifications

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high service standards.
• Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently, especially during evening shifts.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds frequently.
• Ability to push and pull housekeeping equipment, such as tables and carts, weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent movement.
