Job summary

Fairmont Miramar Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica seeks a friendly restaurant busser/food runner to deliver food, assist servers, maintain lounge and dining areas, and support opening, ongoing, and closing side work duties.

You will work in a fast-paced hospitality environment with strong teamwork, excellent guest service, and safety standards; Active Food Handler Certification is required, and RBS may be preferred depending on regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in restaurant hospitality roles preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Active Food Handler Certification required.
• RBS certification preferred or required by local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, friendly service.
• Deliver food and beverages to guests promptly.
• Assist servers with table maintenance and cleanup.
• Maintain cleanliness of lobby, lounge, and service areas.
• Replenish water service, condiments, and guest items as needed.
• Communicate with kitchen, bar, and service teams for smooth operations.

Job Description

Reporting to Food & Beverage Leadership, responsibilities and essential functions include, but are not limited to:

• Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service.
• Deliver food and beverage items to guests in a timely and professional manner.
• Assist servers with table maintenance, clearing, cleaning, and resetting guest areas.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of lobby loungedining areas, service stations, and back-of-house support areas.
• Monitor and replenish water service, condiments, and guest support items as needed.
• Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and service teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards throughout the lobby loungearea.
• Support opening, ongoing, and closing side work duties.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Support overall outlet operations and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a restaurant busser, food runner, or in a hospitality role preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain organized and detail-oriented under pressure.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible availability, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Active Food Handler Certification required.
• Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification preferred or required based on local regulations.
