Job summary

Turner Industries is seeking an experienced Ironworker for a turnaround in Kingsport, TN. The Ironworker will work as a crew member to raise and place girders and other structural-steel members to form completed structures, with duties checked against procedures.

Non-exempt role; reports to the Foreman. Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, 1–4 years of experience, knowledge of ironworker tools and rigging such as wire rope slings, and potential NCCER

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 1–4 years of ironworker experience depending on level.
• Knowledge of ironworker tools and how to use them.
• Rigging skills including wire rope slings.
• NCCER certification may be required.
• Post offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and policy acceptance.
• Comply with safety requirements on job sites.
• Must not pose a direct threat to others.

Responsibilities

• Raise, place and unite girders and structural-steel members.
• Set up and break down hoisting equipment; guide and position members.
• Bolt, align and verify holes and joints; ensure proper final positioning.
