Job summary

Boom Supersonic is seeking a Turbomachinery Structural Analysis Engineer to own end-to-end structural analysis of rotating and static engine hardware, from disks to mounts, across life predictions and margins. You’ll work with aeromechanics to tune frequencies and validate designs on the test stand.

You'll build whole‑engine models, set margins, and drive hardware correlation, instrumentation planning, and redesigns in a fast‑paced, integrated environment under one roof.

Qualifications

• Hands-on turbomachinery or rotating hardware experience.
• Fundamentals: load paths and defended boundary conditions.
• Life prediction experience in LCF, HCF, or creep.
• Strong engineering judgment when information is incomplete.
• Ability to make clear conclusions and defend them.

Responsibilities

• Own structural analysis of rotating and static engine hardware.
• Predict life across relevant failure modes such as disk burst and fatigue.
• Build structural and thermal whole‑engine models and material models.
• Set frequency margins and mitigate high‑cycle fatigue risk with aero teams.
• Tailor analysis fidelity to the question and risk level.
• Plan and support engine and rig testing, including instrumentation.
• Disposition non‑conformances and support redesign on built parts.
• Develop tools and uplift analysis standards for the team.
