Job summary

Boom Technology, Inc. seeks an energetic Turbomachinery Engineer (Early Career) to own portions of propulsion systems, run 1D/3D analyses, and contribute to hardware on the test stand.

You’ll collaborate across mechanical, materials, and controls teams to turn propulsion concepts into working gas turbine hardware. The role emphasizes hands‑on modeling, real‑world testing, and rapid advancement in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent hands‑on propulsion/thermal‑fluids experience.
  • At least one internship or co‑op with propulsion, fluid, or thermal systems.
  • Hands‑on modeling and analytical experience with CFD/FEA tools and cycle analysis.
  • Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, compressible fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and combustion.
  • Track record of finishing hard things inside or outside school.

Responsibilities

  • Own defined propulsion system pieces from 1D cycle performance to 3D CFD modeling and nozzle design.
  • Work on test stands and in the shop translating concepts into hardware.
  • Analyze cycles and turbomachinery physics to set operating limits for imminent service.
  • Support engine testing operations by evaluating data and troubleshooting anomalies.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing to optimize gas-path components for aerothermal loads and producibility.
