Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc is seeking a Component Design Engineer for turbomachinery in Indianapolis, IN. Hybrid/onsite role requiring collaboration across global ET&S Turbomachinery teams to develop high-performance gas turbine components that meet strict life and efficiency targets.

You will define component designs, establish GD&T requirements, and work with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure conformance. The role emphasizes leadership in investigations, validation, and cross-functional communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher in engineering or related field with 2+ years in design engineering.
• Masters or higher in mechanical or aerospace engineering preferred.
• JD/PhD in mechanical/aerospace engineering acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Create component design definitions per module, system, and interface requirements.
• Establish GD&T and tolerance stacks; support manufacturing to produce compliant hardware.
• Review supplier docs and non-conforming hardware; support supply chain changes.
