Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Component Design Engineer for gas turbine Fan, Compressor, and Rotatives with Cold End Design. Hybrid work pattern with 3 days in the office per week.

You will lead cross-functional design activities, deliver models and analyses, and support design reviews and manufacturing integration. Candidates should have a mechanical or aerospace engineering degree with 5+ years experience (or advanced degrees with fewer years) and strong CAD/SE tool

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience
• Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of experience
• PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional design teams to create turbomachinery components
• Deliver models, definitions and analyses of turbomachinery components and interfacing hardware
• Perform trade studies to optimize designs and document processes
• Collaborate with Manufacturing to implement DfM and disposition non-conforming hardware
• Prepare and lead technical design reviews for stakeholders
• Support verification activities including analyses, rigs and engine testing
