Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Senior Component Design Engineer for gas turbine Fan, Compressor, and Rotatives Systems focused on Cold End design. You will ensure on-time delivery and quality of design artefacts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet system requirements.

The role requires a Mechanical or Aerospace engineering degree with 5+ years’ experience (or advanced degrees with fewer years) and U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 3+ years, OR PhD.
• U.S. Citizen required to be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team to design turbomachinery components (fans, compressors, rotatives).
• Deliver models, definitions, and analyses of interfacing hardware.
• Perform trade studies to optimize designs and document processes per standard work.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to implement Design for Manufacturing and disposition non-conforming hardware.
• Prepare for and lead technical design reviews with stakeholders.
• Support verification activities including analyses, rig and engine testing of turbomachinery components.
