Job summary

The Oklahoma Tax Commission is seeking a Collections Field Officer for Tulsa to enforce state tax laws through field investigations, asset identification, payment arrangements, and enforcement actions. This role requires independent judgment, strong communication, and the ability to interact professionally with taxpayers and businesses.

As the primary contact for accounts in assigned sections, you will manage a caseload, deliver notices of legal action, negotiate payment plans, and travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in auditing, accounting, finance, taxation and revenue, credit collections, or investigative work.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate field tax collection efforts and enforcement actions.
• Manage caseload with minimal supervision and provide clear action plans to taxpayers.
• Serve legal documents to non-compliant businesses.
• Examine and investigate records to ensure compliance and negotiate payment plans.
• Travel extensively within the assigned territory for field visits.
