Job summary

The Collections Field Officer in Tulsa enforces state tax laws by pursuing delinquent taxpayers through field investigations, asset identification, payment arrangements, and enforcement actions. The role requires independent judgment and strong communication with taxpayers and legal entities.

You will serve as the primary contact for businesses in your region, interacting professionally and ensuring timely resolution of delinquent accounts across assigned sections of the state.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in auditing, accounting, finance and taxation and revenue, credit collections, or investigative work OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate efforts to collect delinquent taxes and enforce laws.
• Manage and prioritize an assigned caseload with minimal supervision.
• Serve legal documents to businesses not in compliance with state tax laws.
• Investigate records to ensure compliance and determine tax liability.
• Direct field visits to verify permits and compliance.
• Educate business owners on tax provisions and remittance processes.
• Communicate with taxpayers to provide clear, detailed action plans and deadlines.
