Job summary

The Oklahoma Tax Commission is seeking a Collections Field Officer to enforce state tax laws and secure compliance from delinquent taxpayers through field investigations, asset identification, payment arrangements, and enforcement actions.

This full-time role requires independent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to interact professionally with taxpayers, businesses, and legal entities across Oklahoma. Travel and on-site enforcement are core aspects of the position.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, public administration, or a related field.
• Two years of experience in auditing, accounting, finance, taxation and revenue, credit collections, or investigative work.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate efforts to collect delinquent taxes and enforce tobacco laws.
• Manage an assigned caseload with minimal supervision and provide action plans to taxpayers.
• Serve legal documents to non-compliant businesses and negotiate payment plans.
