Job summary

cFocus Software Incorporated is seeking a Technical Writer to support USAF programs on-site in Linthicum Heights, MD. The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and involves producing user manuals, training materials, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides for government systems.

You will work with engineering teams to document architectures, configurations, and workflows, manage revisions, and ensure compliance with official formats and security markings.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance required.
• Experience writing and editing technical documentation for enterprise IT systems or services.
• Translate complex technical information into clear procedures and guides.
• Interview subject matter experts and validate documentation against workflows.
• Proficiency with word processing, document styles, templates, tables, and revision tools.
• Manage review comments, document versions, repositories, and publication workflows.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and service support terminology.

Responsibilities

• Gather requirements, interview SMEs, and organize technical information for users or reviewers.
• Develop and maintain user manuals, training materials, quick-reference guides, and SOPs for government-approved systems.
• Draft and update troubleshooting guides for Tier 0–Tier 2 service desk operations.
• Document designs, configurations, interfaces, and workflows with engineering teams.
• Support architecture documentation under DoDAF or successor framework.
• Assist configuration management with plans, baseline descriptions, and revision histories.
• Draft and maintain information management and records management SOPs and forms for government approval.
• Develop training content for data governance and knowledge management processes with SMEs.
• Support cybersecurity teams in preparing evidence and documentation for ATO and compliance.
• Document system recovery procedures and continuity plans; capture recovery testing lessons.
• Prepare technical reports and program documentation; ensure consistency with requirements and designs.
• Edit documents for accuracy, clarity, grammar, spelling, and formatting; validate with responsible personnel.
• Coordinate review cycles, track comments, and finalize deliverables for government review.
