Job summary

Akina, Inc. is seeking a System Engineer / System Administrator for Annapolis Junction, MD. TS/SCI – Polygraph clearance is required. The role involves analyzing requirements, guiding design, and providing technical leadership across UNIX and Windows IT systems.

The position requires seven years as SE and ten years as SA in similar programs, with a relevant bachelor’s degree. Salary ranges from $179,000 to $235,000 annually, based on experience and contractual needs.

Qualifications

• Seven (7) years experience as a SE in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Ten (10) years experience as a SA in programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
• Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications.
• Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
• Guide users in formulating requirements, advise alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
• Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
• Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
• Develop technical documentation.
• Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
• Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of SE management and test plans.
• Interact with Government regarding SE considerations and issues.
• Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems.
• Manage IT system infrastructure and related processes.
• Provide Tier I and II support and escalation of problems.
