Job summary

SMS is seeking a Network & Systems Engineer to support a DoD program at Fort Belvoir, VA. The role involves advanced engineering, strategic systems analysis, and operational oversight across multiple security classifications.

The ideal candidate will act as a technical authority, monitor and troubleshoot enterprise networks, and provide executive-level briefings. Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required, with day or night shift options available.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 4–8 years of experience, or MS with 2–6 years.
• Advanced understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
• Proficiency with enterprise monitoring suites and Active Directory architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems analysis, architectural engineering, and operational leadership for DoD network environments.
• Document, test, and modify network/server configurations to align with DoD directives.
• Serve as NOSC escalation authority for complex outages and perform root-cause analysis.
• Interface with Mission Partners and senior leadership; deliver AARs and technical briefs.
