Job summary

MapLarge, Inc. is seeking a Lead Software Architect with active TS/SCI clearance to lead architecture and system designs for complex web applications. The role combines hands-on coding with strategic oversight, guiding teams to deliver scalable, high-performance software.

The position is hybrid: 40% onsite at a cleared facility in Northern Virginia (Springfield, Chantilly, or Dulles) and 60% remote. You will shape technical direction, review designs, and ensure compliance with DoD standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong full-stack development skills across front-end and back-end.
• Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• 2+ years experience as a team lead / lead architect.
• Proficient with web application and API development.
• TS/SCI Clearance; DoD/Defense Industry experience.
• Familiarity with containerized deployment, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and system designs for complex web applications.
• Write great code and build world-class software used by millions.
• Guide teams to deliver clean, high-performance, maintainable code.
• Design, develop, and support software including applications, databases, interfaces, and features.
• Run planning meetings and coordinate across teams to meet objectives and compliance standards.
• Support testing and deployment of new products and features.
• Participate in code reviews.
