The position is 40% on-site at cleared TS/SCI facilities in Springfield, Chantilly, or Dulles, VA, and 60% remote. US work authorization is required, with DoD/Defense industry experience preferred.

Qualifications

Lead Software Architect / Application Team Lead - Active TS/SCI Required

Location: Work onsite in Northern Virginia

This role is for a sophisticated Lead Software Architect / Application Lead who is experienced in leading architecture and system designs for complex web applications and also still loves to code. This job will be 40% on site in Springfield, Chantilly, or Dulles, VA at a cleared TS/SCI facility leading integration efforts and 60% remote work from home.

Responsibilities

• Leading architecture and system designs both customer facing and internally
• Passion for writing great code and building world class software products used by millions of people.
• Helping leading teams writing clean, high-quality, high-performance, maintainable code
• Design and Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
• Run planning meetings and coordinate cross-functionally to insure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Participate in code reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 7+ years of relevant work experience
• Strong proficiency as a full stack software developer
• Authorized to work in the United States and no visa sponsorship required.
• 2+ years experience as a team lead / lead architect
• Proficient with web application and API development
• TS/SCI Clearance
• DoD / Defense Industry Experience

Nice to Have

• Experience architecting systems for real-time data, high-performance visualization, and/or distributed computing.
• Familiarity with containerized deployment, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, and hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures.
• Consulting experience
• Strong understanding of UI/UX principles, reusability, and user-centric workflows in enterprise environments.
