Job summary

Cherokee Federal is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to support enterprise IT modernization and sustainment at Fort Belvoir, VA. This role requires an active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to analyze IT requirements across subordinate commands.

Responsibilities include aligning IT initiatives with modernization plans, reviewing requirements for accuracy, coordinating with ACC-INSCOM, and briefing INSCOM leadership. BA/BS preferred; 2–6+ years in related fields; MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in technology-related field preferred; 10 years’ IT Systems Architect/Engineer experience may substitute.
• Two years’ experience in Project Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering required; 6+ years preferred.
• Knowledge of Federal government contracts and programs.
• Must pass Cherokee Federal pre-employment qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT technical assistance and expertise related to IT requirements for enterprise systems.
• Assist subordinate commands with IT requirements aligned to modernization and standardization.
• Review requirements for accuracy and ensure procurements align with hardware standards.
• Work with ACC-INSCOM on IT acquisition requirements and prepare documentation.
• Present briefings and papers for INSCOM senior leadership; participate in planning meetings.
• Attend INSCOM IT meetings, VTCs, and coordinate with military and civilian personnel.
• Support Unfunded Requirements (UFR) and POM issue papers, schedules, and security planning documents.
• Provide IT subject matter expertise in various forums.
