Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking an Industrial Security Officer (PERSEC) to serve as a Personnel Security Analyst within our team. The role focuses on SCI, SAP and Collateral clearance processes and close collaboration with government customers.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or 3+ years of PERSEC experience, familiarity with DISS/NBIS/JADE and strong knowledge of NISPOM and ICD directives. Onsite work and TS clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; OR 3+ years of professional experience performing NISPOM-related security responsibilities in lieu of a degree
• 1+ years security experience in PERSEC within SAP, SCI, and/or Collateral environment or a security field

Responsibilities

• Support PERSEC aspects of missions at SCI, SAP and Collateral levels
• Handle PERSEC processing steps: pre-screening, clearance initiation, paperwork review
• Learn clearance processes for SCI, SAP and Collateral
• Understand security clearance databases (DISS, NBIS, JADE, TALON)
• Interact with government customers to ensure efficient clearances
• Identify process improvements to streamline procedures
• Manage reporting for cleared SpaceX population incl. travel, incidents
• Coordinate indoctrinations and debriefings
• Partner with Mission Management and government reps to ensure best clearance support
• Collaborate with internal teams on clearance holder requirements
• Assist with PERSEC component of compliance inspections
• Conduct security inquiries and incident reporting
• Stay updated on security trends and policies
