Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Field Engineer for federal AI projects. You will work directly with public sector customers to build production-grade data pipelines, learn customer use cases, and develop tools and documentation for growth.

The role blends customer delivery, product, and engineering. Candidates are generalist software engineers who translate ambiguous problems into practical solutions and collaborate across Product and Engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as a customer-facing engineer or similar hybrid role.
• Hands-on technical experience with clients in pre- or post-sales capacity.
• Development experience with Python, JavaScript, or other modern languages.
• Strong engineering background in CS/Math or related quantitative field.
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to present credibly to executives and front-line engineers.
• Comfort communicating across internal and external teams.
• Intellectual curiosity and empathy, ability to move quickly.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end data integrations that sync customer data to and from Scale's platform.
• Work with customers' engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and API design.
• Design and maintain playbooks, internal tools, documentation, and SDKs for long-term success.
• Partner with engineers and Operations to resolve blockers and own escalations.
• Own the customer's technical experience throughout their time with Scale.
• Collaborate with Account Executives and Product Managers on feature requests.
• Develop expertise in LLMs, 2D image annotation, and API integrations.
• Represent Scale at major events.
