Job summary

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for an HVAC Mechanic in McLean, Virginia. The HVAC Mechanic operates, monitors, troubleshoots, repairs and performs routine preventive maintenance on base building HVAC and related equipment. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99. The scheduled hours are: M-F 6am - 2pm.

Candidates should have a valid Universal CFC license, state licenses preferred, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Current Universal CFC License required.
• VA HVAC Tradesmen’s or DC Journeymen’s License preferred, but not required.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Five+ years experience maintaining commercial/industrial equipment.
• Experience operating centrifugal, reciprocating and screw chillers and compressors.
• Experience with multiple trades (sheet metal, fire alarm, electrical, controls) in HVAC operations.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and specifications.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on base building HVAC and related equipment.
• Monitor BMCS control system, perform tests and calibration.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment.
• Inform supervisor of deficiencies and take corrective action as needed.
• Supervise support staff when required.
