Job summary

Amazon is seeking a cleared Systems Development Engineer to join the AWS Dedicated Cloud (ADC) and AWS Commerce Platform team in Denver. You will help build and support billing systems in air-gapped cloud environments, delivering tooling and services that improve how we operate these systems for US government customers.

The role emphasizes scalability, availability, and operational readiness, with a focus on root-cause analysis, automation, and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Experience in professional software development.
• Experience with Linux/Unix.
• Associate's degree or above, or CND/GSEC certs.
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby.
• Experience tools for automation (building, testing, releasing or monitoring).
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Deep dive to root cause for customer issues and seek remediation.
• Investigate metrics trends and propose improvements.
• Collaborate with senior engineers on scalable cloud solutions.
• Design and build operational tooling to improve reliability and performance.
• Measure impact on government services and drive automation at scale.
