Job summary

EOA Technologies is seeking a Cable Technician to support a U.S. Government subcontract. The role covers installation, routing, and termination of fiber optic and data cables in commercial and industrial settings, under supervision of a Foreman or Project Manager.

This full-time position requires attention to detail and the ability to work on construction sites, buildings, and outdoor spaces. The successful candidate will operate testing equipment and ensure safety and quality through all stages.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph clearance required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with cable pulling, termination, or related field preferred; on-the-job training provided.
• Physical ability to lift 44 lbs., stand for extended periods, and work in confined spaces.
• Valid driver's license; certifications in BICSI, FOA, OSHA 10/30 are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Cable Installation: Pull, route, and install cables (fiber optic, coaxial, Ethernet) per specs.
• Cable Termination: Terminate fiber and copper cables with connectors and panels.
• Preparation and Setup: Mark locations and prep work areas for installation.
• Equipment Operation: Use OTDRs, testers, cleavers, and crimping tools.
• Safety Compliance: Follow PPE and safety protocols.
• Quality Assurance: Test and document cable performance.
• Documentation: Maintain records of routes, lengths, test results.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with foreman and crew.
• Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot installation issues.
