Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Layer 1 cabling systems and related network infrastructure onsite at customer sites in Arlington, VA. The role requires hands-on experience with copper and fiber cabling and the ability to work independently in field environments.

Candidates must hold a TS/SCI clearance, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, and at least 5 years of installation experience with IT equipment.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.

• 5 years of experience in equipment installation and delivery with IT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, label, and test structured cabling systems (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, fiber optic).
• Perform installation and Layer 1 support for network devices, VoIP phones, workstations, WAPs, and printers.
• Install patch panels, racks, and cable management hardware.
• Perform cable certification and testing with appropriate equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve physical connectivity issues.
• Read and interpret network diagrams and cable layouts.
