Job summary

D2 Technical Services is seeking a Cloud Engineer to support our intelligence customer in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO. The role requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and deep AWS experience to design, deploy, and optimize secure cloud-based systems.

You will automate deployments, maintain scalable infrastructure, and work in an Agile environment with a focus on security, monitoring, and operations of a full-stack application in a PaaS setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience
• 8+ years IT experience
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements (e.g., Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, CCNA)
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services
• Experience automating tasks with Bash/PowerShell/Perl
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, Nexus)
• Angular frontend framework and UI/UX design
• Microservices backend and REST APIs
• Experience in PaaS environments
• Docker and Kubernetes container orchestration

Responsibilities

• Maintain security requirements for operation of systems
• Maintain and improve existing infrastructure (autoscaling, new services, cost optimization)
• Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, S3, Load Balancer, RDS)
• Automate and optimize service deployments
• Deliver full-stack web applications to production and resolve operational issues
• Participate in requirements gathering with customers
• Design and implement features independently
• Refactor legacy code for reliability
• Write and read unit tests and analyze code quality
• Work with relational databases and RDB design concepts
